"Well, the story is set in the solar system but we can't take one or two months to get somewhere. And I didn't want to use a warp environment so I wanted to come up with something else. The line between the frames is much thinner than a frame itself. If we were to compare the environment to film, the line between the frames is much skinnier than a frame making up the picture. Compare that to the size of space which is 1/240 in scale. So because you're in a space that's 1/240 in scale of regular space, if you move 1, you'll travel 240 and get where you want to go. That's the rough explanation of the theory."
